Models of Community-Based Learning CentersThe Scott County LifeLong Learning Center, Scott CountyCarolyn King, Director, Scott County PartnershipCarolyn has been the Director of the Scott County Partnership since 1998. Her job entails gathering groups and people together to plan for the future in Scott County and then finding resources and means to accomplish those plans. The Partnership has been instrumental in creating the Scott County LifeLong Learning Center, a community Clearinghouse, innovative Welfare to Work Programs and a variety of Youth Initiatives. Recently Carolyn was the architect of the Scott County CAPE proposal that was awarded five million dollars to improve educational outcomes. Carolyn has a long history of working as a collaborative facilitator and has consulted throughout the United States with communities. Carolyn holds a degree in Psychology from the University of Western Ontario and a Master's in Education from the University of Louisville. Angela Beanblossom, Director, Workforce Services, Scott County PartnershipAngela is the Director of Workforce Services for the Scott County Partnership and Operations Manager for the LifeLong Learning Center. She has been with the Partnership for two years and oversees the Welfare to Work programs and the Work One Express as well as coordinating several training grants. She has a Master's degree in Social Work from University of Louisville and is a licensed clinical social worker. Rick Smith, Board President, Scott County PartnershipRick is the Plant Manager for American Steel Cord in Scottsburg. His
company is a division of Michelin, USA. Rick is the Board President for
the Scott County Partnership and previously served as Chair of the Workforce
Development Committee that oversees the LifeLong Learning Center. |
