Welcome! The 2007 ICN Coordinators Conference provides opportunities for administrators, campus coordinators, learning center coordinators, and student support staff to come together to share ideas and best practices. Participants will learn about new innovations in higher education in Indiana, trends in adult learning, and transforming student services. Join us to "Share Best Practices to Improve Support Services for Distance Learners."

Program Topics — Day One

  • Presentation of the third annual Dale E. Dowden Award for Outstanding Student Services in Distance 
  • Trends and best practices in e-student services
  • New directions in adult learning
  • Best practices in supporting distance learners
  • Retention and success of online learners
  • IHETS interactive

Social hour begins at 6PM at the Evening Reception. Complimentary beverages and hors d’oeuvres will be served.

  • Expanding transfer options for students
  • Tips to improve communications with online instructors
  • Overview of future directions for ICN
  • Asking questions, getting answers, and sharing solutions   

 

Program Highlight:

Keynote Address by Pat Shea.
Shea is the assistant director for WCET, an association of colleges
and universities working together
to advance the effective use of technology in higher education. She heads WCET’s research efforts in online student services via the Center for Transforming Student Services (CENTSS), a partnership initiative among WCET, the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, and Seward Inc.
