Founded in 1840 by the Sisters of Providence, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College is the Nations, oldest, Catholic, liberal arts college for women. SMWC offers campus-based undergraduate degree programs for women and distance undergraduate, graduate, and certificate programs for both men and women. We offer over 30 majors via distance education in the Woods External Degree (WED) Program.

The WED Program is a highly personalized, liberal arts education combined with support from academic advisors, professors and staff members. Created with the adult student in mind, the WED Program allows you to earn a college degree at your own pace in a variety of majors.
