Purdue University–North Central is a regional campus of one of the Midwest’s great research universities. Purdue University started offering classes in Michigan City and LaPorte schools just after World War II, and classes were consolidated in the John Barker mansion in 1949. Classes were first offered in 1967 at the present site, a campus that had grown to 264 acres and three buildings.

Purdue North Central embraces the land-grant tradition of its parent institution, devoted to bringing liberal, professional, and technical education to the people of northwest Indiana. Its expansive campus is located at the junction of the Indiana Toll Road and U.S. 421 in Westville.

Purdue University North Central offers bachelor degrees, associate degrees, master degrees and certificate programs.

Withdrawals and Refunds

In order to effect a withdrawal from any class, a student must complete a drop card approved by an advisor and submit it to the Registrar’s Office. Discontinuance of class attendance is not the basis for withdrawal, and students who do not notify the Registrar’s Office when they plan to withdraw will be given a failing grade in each course involved. Refunds are mailed to the student at their current address. They take between two to three weeks.
