

Ivy Tech Community College - Northwest
Ivy Tech is a statewide, open-access, community college with campuses in 23 communities throughout Indiana. Campuses are organized into 14 administrative regions. The Northwest Region has four campuses – the Gary Campus, located in Gary, IN (Lake County); the Valparaiso Campus located in Valparaiso, IN (Porter County); the East Chicago De La Garza Campus located in East Chicago, IN (Lake County); and the Michigan City Campus, located in Michigan City, IN (LaPorte County). The Gary Campus houses both classes and the administrative offices for the Northwest Region. While the service area of Ivy Tech Northwest also includes Porter and LaPorte counties to the east and Jasper, Newton and Starke counties to the south, the largest constituency comes from Lake County. The Gary Campus has taken the leadership in training for each of the major areas of opportunity in Lake County. They include business, health sciences, hospitality management and industrial technology. The East Chicago Campus provides courses and programs in business, mortuary sciences, hospitality and automotive, construction and industrial technology areas. Valparaiso has focused on the needs of Porter County and its surrounding counties and provides business, health sciences, manufacturing and design technology areas. The Michigan City campus, serving the County of LaPorte and its surrounding communities is focused on business, hospitality management and health sciences areas. All campuses provide a range of liberal art courses. The College has articulated strong course and program transfer agreements with private and state colleges in and out of the state of Indiana. The Region is also working with business and labor partners in northwest Indiana to offer training, skill enhancement and apprenticeship degree programs to area employees through its Department of Workforce Development. EnrollmentIvy Tech operates on a semester basis, fall and spring with one summer term. refund for voluntary withdrawal from a class, when applicable, will be processed
only after the student files a College drop-and-add or withdrawal form with
