Entry-level program helps library staff develop proficiencies
The Library Technical Assistant (LTA) program from Ivy Tech helps students develop proficiencies in basic library technical services and public support services. Specialties are available in school media, health science, and technology-related functions. Graduates of the 60 credit-hour associate degree program may find employment in public, school, academic, or specialty libraries, or they may continue their education by transferring directly into the General Studies bachelor's program at IUPUI. Students who maintain a grade of “C” or better in all classes over the four years are eligible to apply for admission to the master’s program in IUPUI’s Graduate School of Library & Information Science.

AAS/AS in paralegal studies from Ivy Tech
Recognizing the demand for trained paralegals, Ivy Tech Community College has developed its paralegal studies curriculum with input from attorneys and legal professionals. The curriculum emphasizes written and oral communication skills and provides in-class opportunities to develop technical skills. Courses are taught via videoconference by experienced attorneys who are familiar with paralegals’ role as part of the legal team. The 60-credit hour, two-year program leads to an associate of applied science degree or an associate degree. Both programs are available statewide via videoconferencing.

Interactive, online classes available to homes with broadband access
This fall, nearly forty courses will be delivered online using a new delivery option called IHETS Interactive. IHETS Interactive is a Web-based application that supports live video and audio collaboration. Students watch and listen to the instructor using a standard computer, then interact with the instructor and other students using the application’s audio and text chat features. Classes taught via IHETS Interactive can be accessed on any computer with broadband access (DSL or higher) that meets the minimum technical requirements. Students who do not have regular access to a networked computer can participate from an authorized IHETS Interactive receive site.
