Nursing education specialization now available to distance students
The master's program in nursing at Indiana State University is now offering a new Nursing Education Specialization for students completing the university's Master of Science in Nursing degree via distance learning. All courses are offered online; a high-speed connection is required. Clinical courses may be arranged in your community. On-campus visits are not required.

Online class explores topics related to gender/schooling
In "Introduction to Gender and Schooling," a three-credit, online course from Indiana University Bloomington, you’ll explore issues and topics related to gender and schooling—biology vs. socialization, history of schooling and gender, academic achievement, gender and various disciplines/subject areas, specific international schooling situations and gender issues, gender, schooling and socialization, teaching and gender issues, sexuality and schooling, and gender and violence. Classes begin August 27th.

Bachelor’s degree completion program in industrial technology management
Indiana State University now offers a bachelor’s degree completion program in industrial technology management via distance learning. The program is designed for individuals who have completed an associate of applied science (AAS) or associate of science (AS) degree in any technology-related program offered by Ivy Tech Community College, Vincennes University, or other accredited college or university. Courses are offered through a variety of delivery formats.

SMWC adds bachelor’s programs in creative writing and criminal justice

Bachelor of Art/Science in Criminal Justice
The Criminal Justice bachelor's program at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College places emphasis on the helping professions, such as insurance companies, clinics, hospitals, and government agencies. Graduates of the program will be qualified to locate and prepare evidence, assist attorneys in preparing and analyzing court cases, perform noncriminal investigations, and more.

Bachelor of Art/Science in Creative Writing
SMWC's Creative Writing Program was designed to help you develop sound writing skills. You'll learn basic and advanced techniques of creative writing and expand your repertoire to include poetry, drama, and fiction.

Graduate class prepares teachers to manage classroom control
This three-credit, online class from Indiana University will provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to develop and maintain a productive and proactive classroom environment, teach students self-management skills, manage and prevent crisis behavior, and develop and implement behavior intervention and management plans in your own classroom programs. Class begins August 27.

IU distance education certificate program provides opportunities for focused coursework
Improvements made to Indiana University’s Certificate in Distance Education program allow students to focus in greater detail on the content that most specifically meets their needs. Topics include: 1) exploring distance education within a variety of contexts, 2) systematic planning for distance education delivery and evaluation, 3) selection of the best technologies to achieve your learning objectives, and 4) methods to develop and deliver high-quality instruction. Two content tracks are available: Track one is for distance education managers, administrators, and program coordinators; track two is for online instructors, facilitators, and instructional designers. The program begins September 6 and runs through November 1.
