Progress compels IUPUI students to register early Implementation of a new registration system (OneStart) at Indiana University may cause temporary delays for ICN students whose Home Institution is IU (all campuses). Because of the delays, IU students who wish to take classes from other ICN institutions are advised to register early through ICN. Of all of the IU campuses, IUPUI has the earliest registration deadline for IUPUI students—August 5th for fall 2004 classes; non-IUPUI students may register at IUPUI through August 13th. Registration begins there on July 1st.
E-learning opportunities abound for high school students Taking classes via technology is a convenient way for qualified high school juniors and seniors to get a head-start on college. In addition to “dual-credit” classes that allow students to earn high school and college credit simultaneously, many colleges also permit qualified students to enroll early in introductory college classes. Most of these classes are general education courses that are likely to be usable in meeting the requirements of most degree programs. ICN is currently listing 20 dual credit classes and 150 introductory college classes.
Introduction to Sign Language available online and by videotape Offered by the University of Southern Indiana, this introductory course provides an overview of the language, culture, and educational opportunities available within the deaf and hearing-impaired community. The course will not prepare students for the role of interpreter, but it will prepare them to acquire resources for future reference.
