College credit for life experience
Adult students often bring a great deal of knowledge with them when they decide to get a college degree. Through prior learning assessment, college admission offices may award credit to students for their past life experiences as well as past formal education.

How to do a quick search for courses
The ICN online Course Catalog allows you to perform both a Basic Search and an Advanced Search for courses. The Basic Search provides a broad listing of courses under a general subject category, such as Business; the Advanced Search provides a listing of courses from a specific category within Business, such as Accounting, Business Law, or Financing. The Advanced Search allows you to search by words in the course title or by course prefix/number, i.e., BIO 100. It also allows you to select courses that do not run on a semester basis.

By clicking on the Format for Printing button, you can print a detailed report of your selections that includes subject category, course name and number, credit hours, campus, delivery option(s), and description.

The ICN online Course Catalog is updated daily, so be sure to verify the availability of your classes prior to registration.

Spotlight on the Taylor University Center for Lifelong Learning
Taylor University (TU), is an evangelical, independent, interdenominational Christian liberal arts college where faith and learning are integrated. Academic pursuits at TU are rigorous, demanding imagination, dedication, and integrity from both students and faculty. The College of Lifelong Learning is an extension of TU, emphasizing the integration of faith and learning through distance education. The College of Lifelong Learning serves a wide variety of individuals by providing a Christ-centered curriculum in the liberal arts and professional disciplines.

To meet the needs of today’s Internet-savvy student, the College of Lifelong Learning has created a virtual campus that extends TU’s exceptional Christian learning opportunities beyond the boundaries of brick and mortar. Students can log on and attend class at any time to fit their course work around their existing schedule. Through the College of Lifelong Learning, students can take courses for personal enrichment, fulfill college requirements for transfer to another program, or complete a TU degree or certificate.

TU has over 200 classes listed with the Indiana College Network during the Fall 2003 semester, all of which are open enrollment classes, meaning you can register for these classes at any time.
