Financial aid helps defray cost of tuition and related expenses
If you want to continue your education but think you can't afford it, you should apply for financial aid. Financial aid can cover tuition and fees, housing, food, transportation, books, supplies, and personal expenses. If you are seeking a degree or certificate, be sure to check with your Home Institution to find out what financial aid might be available to you. The deadline to apply for financial aid for fall 2003 is March 10.

If you decide to apply for financial aid and need assistance completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), you should attend the College Goal Sunday workshop on February 9. Financial-aid professionals will be on-hand at locations throughout the state to provide free assistance to students and families.

Indiana ranks #1 in nation for educational use of digital technologies
In a survey just released by the Center for Digital Government, Indiana ranked First Place in education for utilizing digital technologies to enhance and deliver education. This is not surprising when you note that in 2000-01, more than 20,000 Hoosiers were enrolled in college classes at a distance, 85 percent of which were delivered via the Internet and two-way interactive videoconferencing. ICN continues to be one of the most comprehensive virtual universities in the country.

Spotlight on Indiana University
Indiana University (IU) is attuned to the changing educational needs of students as well as the opportunities for teaching and learning that new technologies offer. That's why IU is dedicated to using new technologies wherever possible to connect campuses, alumni, students, and faculty. At Indiana University, students who cannot attend traditional oncampus classes may earn certificates, undergraduate degrees, and graduate degrees through distance education. With nearly 500 IU distance education classes offered during the spring 2003 semester, students can study computer programming, library and information sciences, business, and education among many other topics.

Between the nine campuses--IU Bloomington, IU East, IU Kokomo, IU Northwest, IPFW (Fort Wayne), IUPUI (Indianapolis), IUPU Columbus, IU South Bend, and IU Southeast--there’s something for everybody. Be it a Master of Science in Business Administration, a Bachelor of Science in Labor Studies, or a Certificate in Distance Education, IU can help you achieve your goals.

Open enrollment classes give learners the opportunity to register for a class at any time throughout the year, and must be completed between six months to one year depending upon the originating institution.
